This ethereal original artwork by Stephen Simpson marks the first instalment of his successful collection  in 2022!  Full of bold colour, heavy texture, and abstract brush strokes, the wonderful collection “incorporates all aspects of my previous work that I particularly like” while embracing a range of new techniques and materials.

Created during 2020 which marked Stephen’s 10 year anniversary working as a professional artist, this body of work “is meant to be cheerful, romantic, [and] uplifting” and also represents a contemporary take on one of the oldest genres of art history!

From Ancient Egyptian depictions of a lotus flowers to Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflowers and the work of Georgia O’Keeffe, flowers have been the focus of artists for centuries. For Van Gogh they ‘communicated gratitude’ and for Stephen Simpson, they “make people smile, take them to a happy place”. This universal symbol of happiness is the perfect way to add a contemporary yet classic touch for any space that glows with life and passion.
