A hand-painted animation cel on a giclée print background, hand-signed by Joseph Barbera and Bob Singer.
First released to American theatres in 1945, ‘Mouse In Manhattan’ was the first time that an episode of Tom & Jerry focused on just one of the destructive duo. It was also the first time that key American animator Ed Barge was credited for his contribution to the early Tom & Jerry cartoons.
Signed by Bob Singer and Joseph Barbera, this artwork comprises both a hand-painted title card and larger animation cel on a giclée background. Paying homage to the original animators’ techniques, where each still would be hand-drawn and painted onto acetate cels and set against separate painted backgrounds, the hand-painted nature of these cels captures the magic and passion that those early animators had in the mid to late 20th century.
