A striking sculpture of a stag, made in bronze by wildlife artist Steve Winterburn

Artist Steve Winterburn said the following about the stag sculpture;

“I wanted to start the stag because a lot of the work I do is showing the prowess of animals from around the world, I wanted to portray the biggest and most iconic of our wildlife here in the UK.

There was also the spiritual connection, for thousands of years the stag has been tied to myth and legend in our culture and being able to express this through my medium of sculpture was something I’d always wanted to do.

When I’ve seen stags over the years, with their regal elegance and aura you can’t help but be in awe and feel the connection we have with these beautiful animals.“

Steve Winterburn’s legendary sculptures feature in public installations, galleries, and collectors’ homes across the nation. From heart-warming and authentic memorials to sports legends in key stadiums, to ferocious animal sculptures inspired by his first-hand experiences with wildlife conservation around the world for over 10 years. Steve’s art fuses the work of artist and artisan as he runs his own bronze-casting studio that calls upon thousand-year old techniques from foundrymen to create incredibly detailed bronze artworks.
