A hand-painted, limited edition animation cel, hand-signed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.
Two animated shows from Hanna-Barbera converge in this unique limited edition hand-painted cel. The Atom Ant Show and The Magilla Gorilla Show both originally aired in the 1960s before reruns on the late 1990s and early 2000s. While Atom was a superhero ant who fought crime out of an anthill in the countryside, Magilla was a pet-shop gorilla who spent his days eating bananas in the shop window after he was frequently being returned by customers who needed his help rob banks and other adventures.
Hanna-Barbera Studios Inc. was founded in 1957 by the creators of Tom & Jerry, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The studio created some of the most iconic cartoons ever made including: The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Wacky Races, Scooby-Doo, and many more. This limited edition hand-painted cel pays homage to the original animators’ techniques where each still would be hand-drawn and painted onto acetate cels and set against separate painted backgrounds to create a snapshot from an entire scene.
